LeBron James hits 56 points as Lakers beat Warriors 124-116

LeBron James breaks a four-losing game streak on Saturday night game against the Golden State Warriors dropping a total of 56 points in the game at Crypto.com Arena. Amid a disappointing season for the Lakers, the 37-year-old NBA player gives the Los Angeles Lakers a victorious comeback.

Pointing out to Kobe Bryant, it seems that James is following in his footsteps. Moreover, despite having a history of a knee injury, everyone was wowed by the former Cleveland Cavalier’s performance last two nights.

LeBron injuries, rumors, and insults

King James stood strongly amidst injuries, false rumors, and insults. Being ninth in the Western Conference, he is not without haters.

Initially, the NFL fans shouted out on Twitter about proposing a combined party in Los Angeles after the Rams won the Super Bowl because LeBron seemed to piggy ride the Rams’ success instead of focusing on his own team, the Lakers who have been underwhelming this season.

Aside from that, the Ohio-born player was also rumored to be having internal problems with general manager Rob Pelinka which later were confirmed to be untrue. Another highlighted scene was the assumption that he was aborting the Lakers ship to be with his son, Bronny James.

In addition, even though he has been consistently putting up numbers, the four-time NBA champion was nursing a knee injury throughout the season long. In a post-game conference against the Warriors, he admitted that the pain still bothered him until now.

“I feel it. But at the end of the day, if I’m on the floor, I have a job to do. If it gets to the point where I feel like it’s hurting me in the long run, I shouldn’t be out there,” said James.

Despite his ups and downs, the 13-time NBA All-Star Game MVP was a dropping dime on Saturday night, proving to everyone that he still got what it takes for the seat at the playoffs.

LeBron’s 56 points

The 18-time NBA All-Star was previously “pissed off” for not being mentioned as the greatest scorer, given his natural desire to include everyone in the play. Despite being one of two players, with Kobe Bryant, at his age dropping 55+ points, he proved them wrong.

“Right now, I don’t give a damn about the 56,” LeBron reflected postgame. “I’m just happy we got a win. That’s just literally the first thing that came to my mind. We needed pretty much all of them, going against a team that’s so explosive offensively.”

The four-time NBA Finals MVP shot 19-of-31 from the field, 6-of-11 from the 3-point line, and 12-of-13 from the free-throw line. The five-time NBA All-Defensive First Team was outstanding and everyone was impressed.

“There’s really no words for it. An incredible performance. The best to ever do it in my opinion,” stated Lakers head coach Frank Vogel.

“Tonight, he forced his will and had his hands on the game at all levels. It was really big, especially tonight in games like this where we needed to win,” teammate Russell Westbrook said.

“His scoring was phenomenal tonight,” Carmelo Anthony added as well.

Obviously, it might be hard to score 50+ points in every game for James, but with such incredible play, perhaps it could give more positive energy to the Lakers from now on forward.
