The Yaamava’ Resort & Casino, which is situated in Highland, California, has undergone several restorations and expansions. The most recent development would be when it was revealed in December 2021 that, in addition to its exceptional 432 guest rooms and new pool, the facility had constructed a beautiful spa for its guests.
The project is a part of the property’s commitment to modernizing its facilities while preserving its heritage. According to the resort’s general manager, Peter Arceo, the Yaamava’ Resort & Casino was once known as The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians when it initially opened in 1986.
“The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians first opened the property now known as Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel as a bingo hall on July 24, 1986,” Arceo said.
The name change occurred recently when the Tribe changed the resort from San Manuel Casino to Yaamava’ Resort & Casino in the fall of 2021.
“In the fall of 2021, the Tribe rebranded the property from San Manuel Casino to Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel,” Arceo added.
The Serrano term for ‘spring’ was chosen for Yaamava’ since the concept of the property is primarily influenced by the Serrano people’s ancestral lands.
“Yaamava’ is the Serrano word for ‘spring’ and the new visual identity is inspired by the ancestral lands of the Serrano people.”
Arceo also mentioned that the property’s development began decades ago, particularly when the property opted to expand to 100,000 square feet in 1994.
“In 1994, it expanded into a 100,000 square foot casino that featured slot machines and card games,” Arceo concluded.
With its steady growth, it is no surprise that it is now the casino with the most slots in the western United States.
What the property has to offer?
In order to provide the best food for all guests of the Yaamava’ Resort & Casino, executive chef Matt Smith is offering the vegan option as one of their popular menu items that guests can select at many of the on-site restaurants.
The resort’s in-room eating options typically include salads, vegan seitan bacon, and penne primavera pasta. With its house-made vegan chow mein, custom-made veggie stir fry platters, and garlic baby snow pea leaves, Hong Bao is unquestionably the greatest option for fried-food enthusiasts.
For salad enthusiasts, Rock & Brews is a good option because customers may choose from a selection of vegan entrée salads that can be specially crafted, like their famous Strawberry Fields Salad. Last but not least, George Lopez’s Chingon Kitchen offers vegan burritos created to order and nutritious bowls for fans of Mexican cuisine.
After a meal, guests who wish to unwind can have a beautiful massage at the Serrano Spa, which specializes in couples massages like the Love and Vitality massage.
The Turquoise Ocean Body Ritual, according to the director of spa operations, Shane Upson, is the ideal option for individuals looking for an authentic experience. It provides visitors with a comprehensive range of services, including a body wrap, nourishing massage, and full-body enzyme exfoliation.
If visitors wish to continue with something more relaxed, the Private Cabanas is the perfect option as it gives a romantic and relaxing day in the pool, which can be followed by a sweet treat for visitors to satisfy their sugar rush from Decadence at Yaamava’ and performance in Yaamava’ Theater.
With this many activities, it’s no surprise that many Californians choose Yaamava’ Resort & Casino as their favorite place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life, despite the fact that it’s more than an hour’s drive from Los Angeles.
