Following the losing game of the San Fransisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game against the Los Angeles Rams and having multiple injuries during the season, it has become more apparent as said by NFL analysts that Jimmy Garoppolo will not be staying with the Niners.
From the Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Commanders, to the Denver Broncos, Jimmy G was even suggested to the “wildest rumor”, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. He even heard at the NFL Scout Combine that the quarterback could be sent to the New Orleans Saints.
“But if [Aaron] Rodgers and [Russell] Wilson aren’t moved, Garoppolo becomes one of the top options available. Maybe New Orleans at least kicks this idea around,” Fowler said.
Jimmy Garoppolo underwent successful shoulder surgery this week. Medical information will become widely available to interested teams. No deal imminent but plenty of clubs probing around. Colts, Steelers, Saints teams to watch. Could be something that heats up around the draft

Meanwhile, the reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers is confirmed to stay in Green Bay Packers with the Seattle Seahawks traded Russell Wilson to Denver Broncos and Carson Wentz was sent packing to the Washington Commanders.
The Indianapolis Colts now need to replace Wentz’s absence and perhaps here is where Garoppolo could come in handy.
Jimmy G’s rumor
Garoppolo himself told reporters that he knew “this would happen eventually” referring to his move in the trade talks. However, until now, there is still no official statement on where he could go next.
Wherever he goes, the 30-year-old just “want to go with a place where they want to win” as he told John Lynch, the Niners general manager about “finding the right destination”.
The two-time Super Bowl Champion stats in 2021 show that he had a 68.3% completion rate, 98.7 QB rating, and threw for 8.6 yards per attempt, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
Following Garoppolo’s surgery of a torn capsule in his shoulder, in which NFL Insider Ian Rapoport believed that it is the key factor why the trade started happening, Garoppolo’s career could be impacted.
The #Colts have now entered the QB race again, and expect them to be in the mix for Jimmy Garoppolo, as well.

“Let’s say things have heated up pretty quickly for the San Francisco 49ers and Jimmy Garoppolo,” Rapoport stated Wednesday on NFL Total Access. “They fielded several calls from teams interested in potentially trading for their starter this past season. Of course, he’s giving way to Trey Lance for the 2022 season.”
Despite ESPN’s Adam Schefter’s and a doctor’s confirmation that Garoppolo will only be ready to play at least this summer, Rapoport is at his “full confidence” that Garoppolo will be ready to go in time for the 2022 season.
Rapoport on Garoppolo’s trade
Rapoport admitted that “it’s complicated” when it comes to Garoppolo’s trade process as his landing place isn’t yet confirmed. Perhaps, the complication is added because of the demand for the asking prices.
He continued with his speculations about the next team that Garoppolo is going to spend the next season with.
From @NFLTotalAccess: Things heated up pretty quickly for the #49ers and Jimmy Garopollo, as the team fielded several calls about his availability. One obvious team is the #Colts. pic.twitter.com/x00lWHlOUm

“One obviously team that, of course, has been in touch, like a lot of teams, is the Indianapolis Colts,” Rapoport said. “I would expect them to be very much in the mix for Jimmy Garoppolo. Not sure when or if anything is going to get done, but certainly there is significant interest there for Indianapolis.”
Hopefully, an official statement will be out soon about Garoppolo, noting that even Wentz’s and Wilson’s trade have been confirmed.
