As the Fourth of July is almost here, several U.S. casinos offer plenty of entertainment options for people. With this, there is something for everyone to enjoy, whether it’s a fireworks show or 4th of July-themed food and drinks.
Some celebrations take place before the 4th of July itself, so pay attention to the event details. All ages are welcome, but adult supervision is required at most events.
The idea of a casino celebrating Independence Day may seem blasphemous to some. It may also be perceived as a crass exploitation of the most important event in the nation’s history, the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
However, a Daily Beast article claims that a gaming hall may be the most appropriate venue for a July 4 celebration. It is apparent that the Founding Fathers were avid gamblers, if not degraded ones.
Thus, celebrating America’s 246th birthday makes perfect sense for casinos. That’s precisely what two regional gambling dens are doing.
Rivers Casino Philadelphia
The Rivers Casino Philadelphia will host a bash dubbed Party On the Pier on July 3. The festivities kick off at 6 p.m. with DJ Gary’s “let’s get this party started.” The famed Elton John impersonator Elton Rohn will perform a 90-minute show at 7:30 p.m. Then, there will be fireworks over the Delaware River.
Face-painting, balloon artists, and food vendors will also be part of the evening’s family-friendly activities. The party package also includes free parking.
Tropicana Atlantic City
Tropicana Atlantic City will host a fireworks show at 10 p.m. to celebrate Independence Day. Alternatively, if you cannot attend, you can watch the Tropicana’s bombs bursting in the air every Saturday night through Labor Day.
Bally’s brings the Bacons
During Bally’s Atlantic City’s Sound Mind Network benefit event on June 26, the Bacon Brothers, superstar character actors Kevin and Michael Bacon, will perform.
In addition to the Bacon Brothers whose new EP Erato’ will be released on July 8, Electraqueens, Johnny Showcase, and the Network’s co-founder Tony Luke Jr. will perform at the over-21 show on July 8. Luke Jr. is also a talented singer and composer.
Non-profit organization The Sound Mind Network campaigns to use the creative arts in helping people struggling with addiction, mental health, and trauma.
Both midtown-Atlantic City properties have pretty much completed their room renovations.
A makeover of 750 Tower rooms at Bally’s Atlantic City has brought the 33-year-old hotel into the 21st century. Work is being done to restore the 1989 complex’s luxury atmosphere.
Throughout the hotel, sleek, modern décor has been installed. Upgraded amenities have been added to bathrooms, including illuminated mirrors and brand-new showers. The 112 corner Deluxe King rooms with soaking tubs and window-facing seating areas are a great choice for those looking to splurge.
Centurion Tower also received a thorough renovation at Caesars Atlantic City next door. The hotel’s standard rooms come equipped with a large HD television, a closet safe, and numerous electric outlets/USB ports.
Bathrooms are unexpectedly spacious (the national industry seems to be heading in the opposite direction) and feature a large, glass-enclosed shower with a seat and two heads.
A construction project is underway on the top three floors of the Centurion Tower that will turn them into a luxury Nobu hotel-within-a-hotel. The opening is scheduled for late 2022.
